Welcome to my all new site which is still under construction but hope to be fully up and running soon.
Here I shall be listing future Dance events and uploading some of my latest mixes of Classic Oldskool, Oldskool Hardcore and Hardstyle.
You can also contact me for any bookings,CD's or general chat via email.
I have been a fan of dance music since the early Acid house scene in 1988 then from 1990 as it progressed more into Street Rave,Eurodance sounds became interested in mixing.
I used to play around with some old record players trying to mix with no pitch controls using both volume controls as my faders..As i became more intrigued by the art of mixing I manged to get myself a cheap set of Technic decks with a pitch wheel and a 2 channel KAM mixer,Got a handful of vinyl that i purchased from 23rd Precinct in Bath Street,Glasgow. My good buddy Davy Walker who worked there used to keep me up to date with all the latest tunes and set some aside for me as he always knew the tunes i'd like.
Almost every penny would go on buying vinyl most weeks.
Got my first pair of TechnicsSL1210's in 1992 and never looked back since...Played out mainly as a bedroom dj till i gained the experience i needed to enter into the gigging side of it.
Had many great nights playing out the music i love, be it a large event or a smaller more close knit venue.
Gave it all up at the tender age of 24 in 1997 and got back into it again in 2006 at the age of 33.
A lot had changed since my 9 years out with equipment becoming more technical and vinyl being almost non existent with most dj's opting for cdj's.
My studio now consits of a pair of Technics SL1210 Turntables,a Pair of Denon DN-S1000 cdj's and a Pioneer DJM600.Powered by Technics 100watts per channel amp,two Aegis Tower speakers and a Hewlet Packard Dual Core tower PC.
I had joined numerous Dance web chats and spoke to various people with similiar interests but one guy in particular owned a site called 'Dance Energy Network'.....Greg Murphy aka dj Brooklyn Assault and it was aparent that we shared a lot in common regarding the early 90's dance scene. This gave me the urge to get the Decks set up again and started playing out online via a shoutcast internet radio service which I played out most Fridays and Monday evenings.
I still say to this day if I hadn't came across this site all the equipment and vinyl that i own would either be sold or thrown out.
Thankfully i did neither and am back enjoying playing the music i still and always will love.
I have also been introduced to Hardstyle as this is my genre of choice after deep deliberation.Although it would be easier to get gigs playing out either Trance or Commercial sounds i feel Hardstyle is more suited to my previous background history.
Anyone who has met me knows I have no hidden agendas regarding the scene as a whole. Not one for trying to make a name for myself just been influenced with good tunes throughout the years and a few good people which i have met along the way.
Like someone once said,"Its nice to be important..but more important to be nice"
eVOLUTION was a gig I played in 2007 and it brung all the old feelings back again...loved every second of that oldskool hardcore set. djbladzy b2b Brooklyn Assault.
Looking forward to producing some new mixes and possibly do a few more gigs also.
Big respect goes out to Greg Murphy,Dale Johnston,Tony Hutchison,Johnny Peebles,Craig Hamilton,Gary Mclellan,McGinty,Gordon Culbert and many more whom I have met through DEN and Tom dj site.
Feel free to Roam the site although it is still under construction look out for streaming mixes, some very rare vinyl for sale and up and coming events too.
Take care and keep it real.
